Men's Soccer Pairings Party Set For MondayNov. 16, 2003 MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer team will host an NCAA Pairings Party for players, coaches, fans, and media on Monday (Nov. 17) at the Gasthaus in the basement of the UWM Student Union. The Panthers earned the Horizon League's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament with a 1-0 victory over Butler University on Sunday. The Milwaukee players and coaches will gather at the Gasthaus to find out where and when its first round NCAA Tournament game will take place. The 2003 NCAA Selection Show, which will air live on ESPNEWS at 3:00 p.m., will unveil the 48 teams that have earned bids into the NCAA Tournament and where first-and-second round games will be played. The pairings party will begin at 2:30 p.m. with UWM head coch Louis Bennett and players available for interviews after the selection show.
The 2003 tournament will mark Milwaukee's third-straight NCAA appearance and sixth in school history. The Panthers claimed the program's first postseason win last season with a 2-1 victory over Oakland University at Engelmann Field. UWM, led by First-Team All-League performers Tighe Dombrowski, Kyle Lance, and Antou Jallow, will take a 15-5-1 overall record into postseason play.
