MILWAUKEE - Cleveland State scored four times in the second half to score a come-from-behind, 5-3, win over Illinois-Chicago Friday afternoon in the first semifinal of the Horizon League Men's Soccer Championship at Engelmann Field.

The Vikings, who finished second in the league during the regular season, tied the match just over six minutes into the second half on a header goal by Stephen Ademolu. Just under three minutes later CSU took the lead for good on a goal by Adam Musser. The Vikings (10-10-0) then added insurance goals by J.R. Trandal in the 74th minute and Matt Micetich in the 80th minute to secure their first-ever trip to the Horizon League championship game.

CSU had actually taken a 1-0 lead four minutes into the contest on a goal by Ademolu but UIC (10-8-2) equalized just 17 seconds later on a five-yard volley from Sinisa Ubiparipovic. UIC then took the lead in the 32nd minute when Dennis King finished from seven yards out.

The Flames added a goal in the 90th minute off the foot of Jake Stasko.

Joachim Walker had three assists in the game for Cleveland State, tying a Horizon League Tournament record for assists in a game, while the eight goals the two teams scored also tied a Horizon League Tournament mark.

UIC outshot Cleveland State, 17-13, while each goalkeeper recorded four saves. The Vikings were able to avenge a 5-2 loss to the Flames during the regular season.

Cleveland State advances to Sunday's noon title match against either UWM or Butler, who will square off in the second semifinal.
