Antou Jallow and Khaled El-Ahmad came to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee four years ago to not only play winning soccer but earn a college degree in the process. Now, in their senior seasons, it appears as if the Swedish-duo will accomplish both goals in impressive fashion. The two UWM captains were recently honored for their work in the classroom and on the field as they were voted First-Team District V Academic All-Region by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) here Thursday (Nov. 4).

Jallow, the school's all-time leading goal scorer, is making his second appearance on the CoSIDA All-Region squad. A marketing major, Jallow boasts a 3.83 cumulative grade point average to go with a Horizon League-best 12 goals and 28 points so far this season. The 2002 Horizon League Player of the Year, Jallow has earned First-Team All-League honors for two straight seasons and holds the UWM single-game, single-season, and career records for goals scored.

A captain in 2004, El-Ahmad has been a mainstay in the Panther backline for four seasons. El-Ahmad has been a steadying influence as a central defender and has helped lead the Panthers to a 0.90 goals against average, tops in the league and good for 30th nationally. The Uppsala, Sweden-native has two goals and three assists in his career and a 3.51 GPA while pursuing a Master's Degree in Business.

Jallow and El-Ahmad will return to action Saturday (Nov. 6) in the quarterfinals of the Horizon League Tournament. Milwaukee, the No. 1 seed, will host No. 8 seed Cleveland State at 1:00 p.m. at Engelmann Field.
