Jallow Earns Second League Player of the Week AwardNov. 1, 2004 INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee senior Antou Jallow was named the Horizon League Player of the Week here Monday (Nov. 1) thanks to his record-breaking performance in three games this week. Jallow wins the award for the second time this season and for the seventh time in his four-year UWM career. Jallow notched seven points on the week thanks to three goals and an assist as Milwaukee won all three of its matches this past week. Jallow scored two goals and assisted on the third in a 3-1 defeat of Marquette on Oct. 26 before scoring his 12th goal of the season in UWM's 2-1 victory over then league-leading Butler. With that goal, Jallow set the UWM career-goal record with 54 career markers, eclipsing the old mark of 53 by Tony Sanneh (1990-93). Furthermore, the 54 career goals are good for a first-place tie with Detroit's Jorge Ferriera on the Horizon League all-time goals list. The Uppsala, Sweden native has 12 goals, four assists, and 28 points on the season in 17 games, tops on the squad. With those numbers Jallow also leads the Horizon League in goals and points in all games while his nine goals and 21 points are good for the top spot in league-only contests. Milwaukee, 10-4-3 on the season, claimed a share of the Horizon League title with wins over Butler and Cleveland State this weekend and will host the 2004 Horizon League Tournament at Engelmann Field. The regular season championship is the fourth consecutive for the UWM program. Milwaukee will open league tournament play on Saturday (Nov. 6) when it hosts No. 8 seed Cleveland State at 1:00 p.m.
