MILWAUKEE - Ryan Seymour (Portage, Mich./Northern) was named the Horizon League Player of the Week for men's soccer, the league announced yesterday.

The senior forward scored four goals on the weekend to help give Milwaukee a pair of league wins and the regular-season league championship. In a 3-2 win at Wright State on Friday, Seymour scored two goals including what proved to be the gamewinner. On the road against Butler on Sunday, he led UWM's comeback to twice score the equalizing goal, including one in the 85th minute to force overtime and allow a 3-2 Panther victory.

He leads the league with 36 points, tallying 14 goals and eight assists on the season. He also leads the league in shots, having taken 78 shots overall with 45 on goal.

Seymour has been selected for the second time this season after being named the Horizon League's Player of the Week on Oct. 2. This is the third time overall this season that UWM has been recognized, as junior goalkeeper Chris Dadaian was also named with the honor for the week of Sept. 10.

The Panthers (15-3, 6-0 Horizon League) finish their regular season when they host league-foe UIC on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m. UWM has already clinched hosting the Horizon League Tournament Quarterfinal on Sat., Nov. 10, at noon. As the No. 1 seed in the league tournament, UWM will host the tournament semifinals and championship if they win the quarterfinal game. A loss in that match would allow the highest seed remaining to host the tournament semifinals and championship.
