A win pushes us into third or fourth place, and a loss pushes us down to fifth or sixth The closer we get to the end of all conference games, the more important it is to be in the upper half of the league." UPCOMING GAMES: BUTLER AND AKRON AT HOME The Panthers look forward to pumping up their conference record as they host Butler on Friday at 3 p.m. at Engelmann Field. Butler resides in seventh place in MCC standings with a 1-3 record (4-9 overall). The Bulldogs captured their first conference win on Sunday with a 5-1 win over Detroit, as they were led by freshman Michael Mariscalco's 4 goals. Mariscalco leads the team and is tied for second in the MCC with 17 points (7 goals, 3 assists). UWM continues their homestand as they play Akron on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at Engelmann Field. Akron (4-4-3) is coming off Sunday's 2-0 win over Kentucky. The Zips outshot their opponent, 26-9, as Orjan Bjaneso scored both goals. Sunday's upcoming game marks the second meeting between the two teams in the last three seasons. Akron won the last match, 2-0, in 1998. Bennett on weekend schedule:
"They are not having their traditional top-of-the-league season, but Butler is still a competent team that needs to be given the appropriate respect. Akron started out being ranked early in the season, and are still in the top 40. Even though they've had some inconsistent results, they're an extremely good team."
