MILWAUKEE -- The Panthers (9-2, 1-0 Horizon) are hoping to claim their third straight victory over a state rival when they travel to Green Bay on Tuesday. UWM is coming off last week's wins over regionally-ranked opponents Marquette and Wisconsin. The Panthers were ranked fourth in the Great Lakes Region last week and are hoping to break into the national polls with strong wins last week.

UWM showed convincing performances to capture the 2-1 win at Marquette and 3-1 win over Wisconsin at home.

Green Bay (1-5-2, 0-0-2 Horizon) is coming off its 1-1 tie against league-foe UIC on Saturday, with substitute Michael Romenesko scoring the first goal in the 67th minute.

Loyola (3-5-2, 2-1-0 Horizon) also is coming off a draw, tieing Michigan State, 2-2, on Oct. 3. Bill Metzger and Blake Kluexner scored two minutes apart in the first half to lead.

Milwaukee is 13-10-3 all-time against Green Bay and 8-2-1 against Loyola. The Panthers tied the Phoenix last year, 1-1, and beat the Ramblers in overtime, 3-2.

UWM Recap

* UWM, who hasn't defeated Marquette since 1996, claimed the Milwaukee Cup in the traditional crosstown rivalry cup game against the Golden Eagles. Antou Jallow scored the first goal in the 30th minute off a double assist from Kyle Lance and Ryan Seymour. Chad Dombrowski headed in a Lance free kick in the 53rd minute to give the Panthers the 2-0 lead before surrendering a goal down the stretch.

* The Panthers beat the Badgers for the first time since 1999 and grabbed their second win against a state rival in three days. Ryan Seymour and Kyle Lance scored just three minutes apart in the first half to take the 2-0 lead, while they teamed up in the second half to assist on Bobby Lish's goal for the 3-1 win.

UWM Looking To Slide Into The Ranks

* UWM was ranked fourth in the region last week before defeating regional opponents Wisconsin (No. 5) and Marquette (No. 7). Ohio State, ranked No. 2 in the region and No. 15 in the nation, lost its weekend game against Michigan State, ranked tenth regionally. Marshall, ranked No. 3 in the region and No. 23 in the nation, lost both of its game over the weekend.

UWM (9-2, 1-0 Horizon) Game Notes

* The Panthers have outscored their opponents, 30-10, on the season, while taking the advantage in shots, 205-116.

* Goalkeepers Chris Dadaian and Brad Swenby have been battling close for the starting spot in front of the net for UWM. Both have been playing well for UWM, though Dadaian has seen more time as he has started seven games. Posting a 6-1 record, Dadaian has recorded four shutouts and a 0.86 GAA. Swenby has started UWM's past two games and posts a 3-1 record on the season, with a 0.95 GAA.

Panther Injuries

Starting defenders Chad Dombrowski and Evan Richardson both suffered severe ankle injuries against Wisconsin on Friday. Both will be out for UWM's games this week. Sophomore J.J. Klein and freshman Ian Hoelker are probable starters for the outside right and central defender positions. Klein and Hoelker have both played in four games this season, with Klein starting one and tallying one assist.

Sweeping The State

The last time the Panther swept all three state opponents was in 1991 under former head coach Brian Tompkins. The Panthers defeated Green Bay, 3-1, Wisconsin, 2-0, and Marquette, 2-1, in overtime.

Green Bay (1-5-2, 0-0-2 Horizon) Game Notes

* The Phoenix are led in scoring by forward Brian Giovinazzi with 10 points (5g). Ranked second in points with only three are Clint Connealy (1g, 1a) and Kyle Sillars (3a). Seven other Phoenix have tallied at least one point on the season.

Defense

After allowing 37 goals scored last season, the Panthers have allowed just ten goals scored so far this season while scoring 30 goals. The Panthers' defense consists of juniors Chad Dombrowski and Evan Richardson and freshmen Khaled El-Ahmad and Trent Furtsch. With Dombrowski and Richardson injured, sophomore J.J. Klein and freshman Ian Hoelker will most likely slide into the lineup.
