Second Season

Bob Spielmann begins his second season as an associate coach at Milwaukee. In addition to helping head coach Jon Coleman with all aspects of the men's soccer program, Spielmann is also involved with recruiting and the marketing of the program.

"Bob has been around the game for a long time and has a lot of experience," Coleman said. "He has a great insight into player development and knows how to get the most out of players. He has a great work ethic on and off the field and a lot of experience to share with the squad."

He came to UWM from Marquette High School in Milwaukee, where he spent 27 seasons as head coach. He turned Marquette into the state's premier high school soccer program, compiling a 532-73-40 career record for a .856 win percentage. Included in that record is 20 Division 1 State Championships, including 10-straight overall and four-consecutive after the WIAA and WISAA combined into one organization.

In addition to those incredible numbers, his teams were state runner-ups four times and claimed 21 conference championships. Marquette was ranked in the nation's Top 25 teams in the NSCAA High School rankings from 1995 to 2005.

He has been successful at different levels, also coaching the Bavarians Under-23 team into the national finals in the summer of 2005 and serving two years (2003-2004) as an assistant with Milwaukee Wave United. Additionally, Spielmann holds a USSF `A' coaching license.
