Aug. 26, 2003

LEVALLOIS, France - Dylan Page scored 24 points before fouling out in the third quarter as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men`s basketball team recorded a 99-97 win over Levallois of France Tuesday afternoon outside of Paris.

The Panthers are now 3-2 on their trip after overcoming a 13-point deficit in the first half and a 12-point deficit early in the third quarter despite playing a game just one hour after completing a six-hour bus ride from Cologne to Paris.

Page fouled out with 2:01 to play in the third quarter but Nate Mielke (16 points) and Adrian Tigert (12 points) picked up the slack.

Chris Hill also added 11 points to compliment 13 points from Ronnie Jones.

"Offensively; our big guys really finished plays. Chris Hill continues to play with great consistency and with maturity beyond his years," UWM head coach Bruce Pearl said. "With so many players playing so many new roles for us, it was really important that we found a way to win tonight."

The Panthers led 89-81 with 6:05 remaining but then had to hang on as Levallois had a shot at the buzzer that would have won the game.

The trip wraps up Thursday with a game against Rueil of France.
