Pearl To Play In Lombardi Classic
June 6, 2003 MILWAUKEE - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee basketball coach Bruce Pearl will participate in the 33rd annual Vince Lombardi Golf Classic Saturday morning. The event, which also includes 22 former and current Green Bay Packers and a large number of other local celebrities, raises money for Vince Lombardi Charitable Funds, Inc., a volunteer-led organization whose purpose is to raise funds for cancer research, education and patient care. The event gets under way at 7 a.m. and is free to the public. On-site parking costs $5 per car. The outing takes place at North Hills Country Club in Menomonee Falls. Athletes and celebrities often sign autographs during the event, but Lombardi Classic organizers ask that they sign only the souvenir autograph book sold on the grounds.
The event also includes the Lombardi Walk for Cancer, which starts at 9:30 a.m. Event-day registration for the walk, which starts and ends at Menomonee Falls High School, begins at 7:30 a.m. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children 16 and under.
