Milwaukee Basketball Golf Classic Set For July 21

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Basketball Golf Classic is set for Monday, July 21, at North Shore Country Club. The annual event is one of the main fundraisers for the Panther men's basketball program. The day includes lunch and dinner, 18 holes of golf, a silent auction and a preview of the 2008-09 season. Registration for the event starts at 10, with lunch served at 11 and a shotgun start set for noon. Dinner and the auction will then begin at the conclusion of the golf - approximately 5 p.m. The price for an individual golfer is $325 while a foursome can register for $1200. Sponsorship packages are also available. "We're looking forward to this year's golf outing and getting together with all of our supporters on the golf course," head coach Rob Jeter said. "It is a great chance for people to get to know our coaching staff and our players, play golf at a great course and bid on some tremendous prizes. This is an important event for us as we use the money raised in this event for a variety of projects, all of which help our program continue to compete at a high level." Auction prizes include a Funjet Vacation for two to Mexico, a Honda Motor Scooter, courtside seats for a Panther game next season and tickets for UWM's games at Wisconsin and Marquette in 2008-09. The event provides golfers a chance to play at North Shore Country Club, one of the finest private golf courses in Wisconsin. Its 27-hole setup provides ample space for the event, while the club's practice range and putting green are available to Golf Classic participants. The men's and women's clubhouses are also open to players in the event. The club is located at 3100 W. Country Club Drive in Mequon. Exit I-43 at Mequon Rd. and head west to Range Line Road. Turn left, follow to Country Club Road, and then turn right toward the club entrance.
