Flowers, Johnson Pull In More Honors

Duo gets all-state recognition from Chicgao Tribune

March 27, 2007

MILWAUKEE - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball recruits Tim Flowers and Kevin Johnson continue to collect post-season awards while their high school team also continues to receive national recognition.

The latest individual honors for Flowers and Johnson, both of whom starred at Chicago Simeon High School, came from the Chicago Tribune. The newspaper named Flowers to its all-state first team and Johnson to its all-state second team.

Both players have earned multiple all-state honors since helping Simeon to its second-straight Illinois Class AA state crown. Flowers has earned first-team honors from the Associated Press, the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association and Illinois Prep Bulls-eye, while Johnson captured third-team honors from the IBCA and fourth-team recognition from Illinois Prep Bulls-eye.

Meanwhile, Simeon has also earned more recognition nationally. The Wolverines were named the #1 team in the country by SI.com, just beating out Oak Hill (Va.), which Simeon beat in January. The Wolverines were also sixth in the final Super 25 poll by USA Today.
