UIC Beats Butler, UWM Hosts Title Game Tuesday
March 6, 2004 INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will host the University of Illnois at Chicago in the Horizon League Men's Basketball Tournament championship game Tuesday at 8 p.m. CST at the U.S. Cellular Arena. The Panthers (19-9) advanced to the title game with a 58-50 win over Detroit in Saturday's semifinals in Indianapolis. UIC (22-7) then knocked Butler out of the tournament's host role with a 65-56 win in the second semifinal. Tickets for Tuesday's contest will are available immediately by phone at 414-276-4545 or online at ticketmaster.com. Fans can also purchase tickets in person at the Milwaukee Theater box office (adjacent to the U.S. Celluar Arena) Sunday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and at all other Milwaukee-area Ticket Master outlets during their normal Sunday hours. The U.S. Cellular Arena box office will also be open Monday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until gametime, or while supplies last. UWM students can purchase their tickets through two on-campus sale points - Sandburg Hall and the Panther Ticket Office in Merrill Hall - beginning Sunday at 10 a.m. Students tickets will also be on sale Monday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the same locations, as well as at the UWM Union's Kenwood entrance and in the UWM Bookstore. As is the case during the regular season, free bus transportation for students from campus to downtown will be provided Tuesday night. Also, UWM season ticket holders who have already reserved their championship game tickets can pick them up beginning Monday at 8 a.m. in the U.S. Cellular Arena lobby.
Tickets for the general public range from $15-$25, while student tickets are $10. Students must show a valid UWM ID for each ticket purchased to receive the student price.
