Championship T-Shirts To Be Given Away This Weekend

Students can get free shirt when boarding shuttle bus

March 2, 2006

MILWAUKEE - Horizon League regular season champion t-shirts will be given away Saturday to University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee students when they board the free shuttle-bus service to the Panthers' league tournament semifinal game.

Shuttle buses will begin running Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and continue through the tipoff of UWM's game at 6 p.m. Buses leave from both Sandburg Hall and the UWM Union.

UWM is hosting the bulk of the Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship this weekend at the U.S. Cellular Arena after claiming its third-straight regular season crown.

Student tickets for the game are still available through the UWM Ticket Office, the UWM Union or the front desk of Sandburg Hall. Student tickets are $10 and students are encouraged to get their tickets in advance to avoid long lines at the doors. On-campus student ticket sales will end Friday at noon, with remaining tickets then available at the U.S. Cellular Arena on both Friday and Saturday prior to the games.

Shuttle-bus service will also be made available Friday for students interested in the watching the two second round league tournament games at the Arena. UW-Green Bay faces UIC at 4:30 p.m. while Loyola squares off with Detroit at 7 p.m. Students tickets for those two games are also $10.

Plus, UWM is also making plans for distribution of women's basketball regular season champion t-shirts. Should the Panthers beat Loyola tonight and then host the semifinals and finals this weekend, the t-shirts will be given away at the door of the Klotsche Center Sunday prior to UWM's noon semifinal game.
