MILWAUKEE - UWM's Clay Tucker has been named to the 2002 National Association of Basketball Coaches/Pontiac Division I District 11 Second Team.

Tucker leads the Panthers in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and blocked shots, and has led UWM into first place in the Horizon League. The junior, already the third-leading scorer in the school's Division I history, has scored in double figures in 22 of UWM's 24 games this season, recording four double-doubles. His season was highlighted Jan. 19 by his game-winning three-point shot at the buzzer in UWM's first-ever win over Butler at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The play ranked sixth on Chris Berman's "Top 10 Plays Of The Week" on ESPN.

The District 11 First Team consists of Frank Williams of Illinois, Dwayne Wade of Marquette, David Bailey of Loyola, Marcus Taylor of Michigan State and Henry Domercant of Eastern Illinois. Joining Tucker on the second team are LaVell Blanchard of Michigan, Rick Rickert of Minnesota, Kirk Penney of Wisconsin and Brian Cook of Illinois.

Tucker, a junior from Lima, Ohio, has taken the Panthers to a 9-3 record in the Horizon League entering the final four games of the regular season. UWM returns to action Thursday night, hosting Wright State in its final home game of the season. The contest tips off at 7 p.m..
