MILWAUKEE - UWM's Jason Frederick has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week, the league office announced today.

Frederick hit a career-high six three-point shots Saturday night in a win over Youngstown State and the junior knocked in 13 threes in UWM's three contests last week. He averaged 18.7 ppg in UWM's three games, shooting 63 percent (17-of-27) from the field and 56.5 percent (13-of-23) from three-point range. He scored a season-high 23 points in Saturday's game after scoring 17 points Thursday night at UIC and 16 points at Loyola last Monday.

UWM (14-10, 9-3 Horizon League) remains in a first-place tie with Butler in the Horizon League. Each team has four games remaining.

The Panthers play their final home game of the season Thursday night, welcoming Wright State to the Klotsche Center for a 7 p.m. contest. UWM beat the Raiders in overtime in the first meeting of the season. Tickets for the contest remain available by calling the UWM Ticket Office at 414-229-5886
