AMES, Iowa (AP) - Tone Boyle hit four of his team's 14 3-pointers and scored 20 points to lead Milwaukee to a 75-51 victory over Loyola Marymount on Friday, spoiling Bill Bayno's return to college coaching.

Tony Meier and Deion James scored 14 points each for the Panthers in the season-opening World Vision Classic at Iowa State. They also hit four 3s apiece.

The new 3-point arc, a foot farther out than last season, didn't seem to bother Milwaukee, which finished 14-for-33 from long range.

Vernon Teel led Loyola Marymount with 18 points.

Bayno, a former Portland Trailblazers' assistant, is trying to resurrect his college coaching career and rebuild a LMU team that went 5-26 last season. He was fired as UNLV's coach in December of 2000 after allegations that he broke NCAA rules, then was cleared of wrongdoing, sued the school and received a settlement.
