#13 Butler 66, UWM 47Feb. 3, 2007
UWM head coach Rob Jeter on the loss "You just have to give credit where credit is due. They had played a lot of games in just a few days but they came home and took care of business. It's a credit to how they do things." Jeter on the keys to Butler's success in defending the Panthers "The bottom line for us is that we could not establish anything inside. For them to shoot the amount of free throws they did and for us to shoot 7-of-9 - you just aren't going to win on the road if you don't get to the free throw line. It has nothing to do with officiating or anything like that. It is just something we have to get better at. We've got to get better at working the game from the inside-out. We're still a work in progress with that." Jeter on trying to control Butler's outside shooting "I think a lot of the things Coach Lickliter talks to his group about are the same things we talk to our group about. It's about not making mistakes, because the team that breaks down first - the other team will take advantage of it. I thought the game in Milwaukee was exactly that. It was two teams battling and battling, and we made some crucial mistakes down the stretch. We know they're going to shoot threes, and we need to be committed for 40 minutes to taking those away and taking away their inside play. The key is the second-chance opportunities. I thought we couldn't allow Butler to get too many second-chance opportunities, because that is where they hit a lot of their threes. It's a long shot, then a long rebound, then two passes a lot of times, and then they get the three-pointer."
