Milwaukee Baseball Players Wrap Up Summer On The Diamond

8/26/2009 - Fifteen former and current University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee baseball players spent the summer on the diamond, playing at various levels across the nation. Panther alums Joe Nowicki and Ross McCoy played at the professional level, while 13 players spent time in a mixture of summer college leagues. That group included: Doug Dekoning, Nate Caldwell, Chad Pierce, Cole Kraft, Ben Long, Paul Hoenecke, Cameron Amsrud, Dan Buchholz, Jordan Herbert, Tim Patzman, Gabe Marshall, Zach Hoch and Greg Blohowiak. Three Milwaukee Baseball Players Named To Prestigious Team

Juniors Doug Dekoning and Sam Sivilotti and freshman Alex Erdmann have all been named to the 20th anniversary All-Suburban Baseball Team, named by CNI/NOW Online this week. Dekoning was selected as an outfielder, Sivilotti as a utility player and Erdmann as an infielder. The NOW sports staff (Community Newspapers Inc.) chose a 25 player roster and one coach as representatives on its 20th anniversary All-Suburban Baseball Team Aug. 18. Over the 20 years of naming the yearly squad, 325 total players were among the possible selections for the prestigious 25-man anniversary team. Read Full Release

UWM Baseball Team Adds Five In Late Signing Period

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee baseball team has announced the addition of five student-athletes who will compete next season for the Panthers. Milwaukee head coach Scott Doffek stated today that Jordan Guth of Onalaska, Wis., Jim Lundstrom of Crete, Ill., Drew Pearson of Racine, Wis., Kyle Spurley of Linden, Wis., and Mark Strey of Marshfield, Wis., will all enroll at UWM and participate next season.
