MILWAUKEE - Senior reliever Matt Freisleben has been named to the Mideast Region First Team following a record-setting season this past spring.

The sidearm right-hander put together the best single-season by a UWM reliever in school history. He collected a school-record 15 saves and finished the season ranked fourth nationally in saves. He broke his own record for single-season appearances by pitching in 37 games and pitched in a total of 115 games in his career, another school record. He finished his career with 18 saves, the second-best mark in school history.

Freisleben's efforts helped the Panthers to their second-straight NCAA Tournament berth and their third in the last four seasons. UWM won a total of 36 games - the second-most in school history - and won the Horizon League Tournament championship while outscoring opponents 30-9 in four games.
