MILWAUKEE -- Chad Sadowski, a senior pitcher/designated hitter on the UWM baseball team, and Mike Oiler, a junior pitcher/outfielder, have both been chosen during the second day of the 2000 Major League Baseball Free Agent Draft.

Sadowski was chosen in the 23rd round by the Philadelphia Phillies. He was the 685th overall pick.

Sadowski was drafted as a junior in the 23rd round of the 1999 draft by the Milwaukee Brewers, but chose to remain at UWM. He is the school's all-time leader in wins, RBIs and hits. He is a two-time first-team All-MCC selection as a designated hitter and two-time second-team All-MCC selection as a pitcher.

Oiler was chosen in the 35th round by the Milwaukee Brewers and was the 1041st overall pick.

Oiler was drafted as a senior in high school and was the 50th round selection of the Brewers in the 1997 draft, but he chose to attend UWM instead. Oiler finished the 2000 season with a 3-5 record and struck out 62 batters in 69 innings.
