CLEVELAND, Ohio - The start of the Horizon League Baseball Championship game between UWM and UIC has been delayed by 90 minutes due to poor field conditions.

The first pitch of the contest is now slated for 1:30 p.m. EDT/12:30 p.m. Milwaukee time.

Heavy rains in the Cleveland area Saturday night left the infield at Jacobs Field in poor condition for much of the morning. The grounds crew has been working on the field and it is expected to be in good condition for the start of the game.

UWM would claim the league's baseball championship with a win in the contest, while if UIC wins the two teams would play a second game later this afternoon.

The winner of the tournament earns an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament, which starts next weekend.
