MILWAUKEE - The record-setting regular season posted by the UWM baseball team has landed the Panthers some national recognition.

UWM (35-16) is among the "others receiving votes" in the latest USA Today/Baseball Weekly/ESPN/American Baseball Coaches Association Top 25 poll. The six votes the Panthers received place them 41st in the nation, and marks just the second time ever UWM has received votes in the USA Today poll. The Panthers received a single vote after their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 1999.

Miami (Fla.) is the top team in the nation. Regular season Panther opponent Nebraska is fifth in the nation.

The Panthers open play in the Midwestern Collegiate Conference Tournament Thursday morning at 11 against Detroit.
