UWM Baseball Set To Play At Miller Park Thursday

Panthers host Youngstown State in league doubleheader

May 12, 2008

MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee baseball team continues its tradition of playing at the home of the Milwaukee Brewers each season when it hosts Youngstown State Thursday at Miller Park. Game one of the league doubleheader should start between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., following the conclusion of the Brewers/Dodgers game scheduled for that day. The start time of the opener is subject to change, as the teams will begin play approximately 45 minutes after the field is ready following the MLB game that day.

Admission is free to the UWM games and fans may start entering the parking lot and stadium in the eighth inning of the major league contest. Parking for the event is also free at that time.

Through a marketing agreement with the Milwaukee Brewers, the Panthers have played at Miller Park every season since 2002. UWM has made the most of those opportunities, posting a record of 9-3 in games at the Major League Baseball park.

With the games at Miller Park arriving much later in the schedule this season than in the past, the team will be able to have its Senior Day on May 15 as well. The seven Milwaukee seniors - Adam Ferrell, Jesse Hart, Matt Holzheuter, Ben McClarey, John Sarcia, Troy Vesling and Nick Wichser - will all be honored in an on-field presentation between games Thursday.
