MILWAUKEE - Senior catcher Todd Ludwig (Franklin, Wis./Milwaukee Thomas More) is one of 40 being considered for the inaugural Johnny Bench Award, the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission announced today. The award is given to the top collegiate catcher.

The list of 40 will be narrowed down to 10 by May 15. The winner will be announced June 20, 2000.

Ludwig hit a school-record 17 home runs last season. He ranks in the UWM top 5 for career runs, home runs and RBIs.
