Eric Goerdt Named MCC Player of the Week

MILWAUKEE - Eric Goerdt (Cherry, Minn./Cherry/Madison Area Tech), a junior first baseman/outfielder on the UWM baseball team, has been named the MCC Player of the Week, the league office announced today.

Goerdt batted .700 (14-for-21) in five games last week. He tallied team-bests of 14 hits, eight runs, three doubles, three home runs, eight RBIs and a 1.30 slugging percentage. All three of his home runs and eight of his RBIs came against MCC rival Wright State. He now has a hit in 13 of his last 14 games. Goerdt's performance lifted his season batting average to a team-high .462 (42-for-91) eight home runs and 27 RBIs.

The Panthers are 15-15 this season and are in a tie for first place in the MCC with a 4-2 record. They play host to Bradley on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
