CHICAGO - Mike Oiler threw a complete game and Jason Crawford knocked in three runs as UWM bounced back from its first two losses in MCC play to beat Illinois-Chicago 10-4 Sunday afternoon.

The Panthers (24-13, 10-2 MCC) jumped on UIC starter Gene Rausch for three runs in the first inning on back-to-back homers from Scott Gillitzer and Eric Goerdt. UWM added four more runs in the third - two apiece on singles from Dave Pudlosky and Crawford - and the Panthers were never seriously threatened from there.

Oiler (5-5) allowed 11 hits but just three earned runs in pitching his third complete game of the season. Oiler walked only two while striking out four in winning his third straight MCC start.

Goerdt had four hits, Crawford three and Gillitzer two as the Panthers pounded out 15 hits one day after being shutout for the first time this season.

UWM returns to action Tuesday, traveling to Northwestern for a single game. The Panthers will resume MCC play Friday night, opening a four-game series at second place Wright State.
