Panther Baseball Wins Another Against Butler
April 18, 1999 MILWAUKEE- Darrin Haugom had the game-winning RBI with two out in the seventh inning as UWM posted a 8-7 win over Butler on Sunday at Henry Aaron Field at Lincoln Park. The Panthers lost game two, 7-4. In game one, UWM starter Mike Oiler pitched into the sixth inning, striking out 10 Butler batters, but picked up no decision. Butler tied the game at seven with a five-run sixth inning. J.J. Kotarak led off the Panther seventh inning with a single, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt and scored on Haugom's hit. Haugom went 2-2 with a pair of RBIs. Chad Sadowski added a pair of doubles and two RBIs.
In game two, Corey Clemmons pitched a complete game and allowed only four earned runs, while striking out seven, but the offense couldn't give him enough support.
Todd Ludwig hit his 11th home run of the season in the game. He needs one more in UWM's remaining 20 games to tie the school record.
