WHITEWATER - The UWM baseball team scored four times in the first inning, then scored in every inning but the sixth and ninth en route to a 14-6 victory over Wisconsin-Whitewater Wednesday afternoon.

Matt Freisleben pitched three scoreless innings of relief to record the victory. Freisleben came on with two runners in scoring position and no one out in the fourth inning, and proceeded to retire the side without allowing a run, preserving the Panthers' 7-4 advantage. UWM then scored twice in the fifth and four more times in the seventh to put the game away.

In the first inning, UWM's first five batters reached safely, the first three on doubles. Derek Daggett cracked a three-run home run in the four-run seventh, and Jeff Pitrof hit his first home run of the season in the eighth. Dave Pudlosky also had a solo home run in the third.

UWM (15-11) returns to action Thursday afternoon, welcoming Chicago State to Henry Aaron Field for a single game beginning at 3 p.m.

Whitewater (18-5) entered the game ranked 23rd nationally amongst NCAA Division III teams.
