UWM Baseball Falls to Northwestern, 9-5
April 14, 1999 Evanston, Ill. -- The UWM baseball team allowed only three earned runs, but committed six errors, as the Panthers fell to Northwestern, 9-5. The game was tied, 3-3, in the sixth inning, on the strength of a Chad Sadowski RBI double and a Mike Oiler two-run home run. UWM scored tow more in the sixth inning, including one on a Steve Johnson RBI single. Johnson went 3-4 in the game and improved his batting average to .292 on the season. But the Wildcats answered with two of their own in the sixth inning, as well as two in both the seventh and eighth innings. Jason Crawford (0-2) picked up the loss for UWM. He pitched two innings and allowed four runs, two earned. UWM starter Corey Clemmons pitched the first five innings, allowing only one earned run.
The Panthers play host to Chicago State on Wednesday. Gametime of the
doubleheader is 3:00 p.m.
