OMAHA, Neb. - Quintin Oldenburg tossed a four-hit shutout to lead UWM to a 4-0 win over Creighton in game one of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon.

The Blue Jays won the nightcap, 5-3.

Oldenburg (4-2) allowed just seven baserunners in tossing his second consecutive complete game. He struck out six and allowed just one extra base hit.

UWM (14-11) scored twice in the sixth on a Blue Jay error, then added single runs on a Matt Houk double in the seventh and a Darin Haugom home run in the eighth.

The win was the first-ever for the Panthers over Creighton (15-18).

In the second game, UWM grabbed a 3-2 advantage after scoring twice in the fifth inning, but the Panthers could not hang on. Creighton scored once in the seventh to tie the game, then took the lead on a Scott Allen two-run homer in the eighth off starter Mike Oiler (3-5).

UWM returns to action Wednesday afternoon, traveling to UW-Whitewater. The Panthers will then play seven straight home games, beginning Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. against Chicago State.
