UWM Baseball Defeats Detroit, 8-1
April 10, 1999 DETROIT-Andy Neary allowed three hits and no runs in six innings as the UWM baseball team defeated Detroit, 8-1, on Saturday. The Panthers fell in game one, 1-0, in eight innings. In the Panthers win, UWM scored in five of the first six innings. Brett Huebner went 2-3 with three runs scored. Darrin Haugom had a two-run single in the third inning. UWM failed to capitalize on a stellar pitching performance by Chad Sadowski. The junior pitched eight innings, allowing only one run in the eighth. Sadowski allowed seven hits and struck out nine batters.
The Panthers play two at Detroit on Sunday.
