AUSTIN, Texas - The University of Texas scored five times in the fourth inning to overcome an early UWM advantage and claim a 9-3 victory Monday afternoon.

The win gave the Longhorns (12-8) a sweep of the three-game, weekend series.

The Panthers struck first with two runs in the top of the fourth inning, but Texas bounced back in the bottom of the inning. UWM starter Quintin Oldenburg was knocked out of the game in the fifth inning, allowing seven runs, but just three of the runs were earned.

Dave Pudlosky went 2-for-2 with an RBI to lead the Panthers' offense. UWM knocked Longhorn starter Ray Clark from the game two batters into the fourth inning, but reliever Kevin Frizzell allowed just two hits and one run in the final six innings.

UWM (0-3) returns to action this weekend at Evansville, facing the Purple Aces in a three-game weekend series. The teams will play a doubleheader Saturday and a single game Sunday.
