Omaha, Neb. - A strong pitching performance by Chad Sadowski was not enough for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee baseball team to win its first game of the season. The Panthers lost to Creighton, 5-1, on Friday.

Sadowski, a senior from Cudahy, Wis., took the loss as he pitched seven innings, allowing five hits and two earned runs. He struck out seven batters and walked two.

Eric Goerdt and J.J. Kotarak each went 2-for-2 at the plate for the Panthers. Brett Huebner tallied the lone RBI when he knocked in Kotarak in the first inning, giving UWM a 1-0 lead.

UWM (0-4) plays a doubleheader on Saturday at Creighton.
