Dean Haase enters his third season as an assistant coach for the Milwaukee Panthers in 2009. His primary responsibilities at UWM are working with the catchers and serving as the first base coach. He also helps Milwaukee with defensive positioning. Haase brings an impressive baseball pedigree to UWM, having been drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 1991 draft after a stellar career at UW-Oshkosh. Haase went on to play two years in the White Sox organization. In four years at Oshkosh, Haase played in 99 games, batting .274 with 11 home runs and 56 runs batted in. He was a three-year letterwinner and a two-time All-WIAC selection on the field. He started every game as a junior and senior behind the plate, helping the Titans go 105-51 in his career, including three league titles and a second, third and fifth-place finish at the NCAA College World Series. Haase resides in Germantown, where he spent the 2005 and 2006 seasons as the assistant varsity baseball coach at Germantown High School. |
