Panthers look for a strong finish in the league.

MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men’s and women’s cross country teams will travel to Detroit, Mich., on Saturday, Oct. 30, to compete in the Midwestern Collegiate Championship.

The race will be held at Cass-Benton Park, with MCC school Detroit Mercy acting as host of this championship event.

The women's race is a 5K and begins at 10 a.m., while the men’s 8K race begins at 11 a.m.

At last year’s MCC Championship meet, the men’s team finished 5th and the women’s team finished 4th. Ryan Powell (Marshall, Wisc.-Marshall), turned in a 23rd-place overall finish with a time of 26:30. The women were led by Ann Lewis (Wausau, Wisc.-Wausau) in ninth-place overall with a time of 18:26. Lewis also earned All-MCC honors in last year’s meet.
