UWM Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Both Finish 4th at MCC Championships

Panthers begin to prepare for Regionals on Nov. 13.

DETROIT - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men’s and women’s cross country both finished in fourth place today at the MCC Cross Country Championships in Detroit, Mich. Butler topped both sides of the race, with its men finishing first in a field of seven teams with 24 points, and the women topping the field of eight teams with 30 points.

Individually for the Panthers, senior Ryan Powell (Marshall, Wis./Marshall HS) led the men’s team with a seventh-place overall finish, completing the 8K course in 27:11.81. Finishing just behind him in ninth place was junior Aaron Nodolf, who finished the race in 27:19.63. On the women’s side, the Panthers were led by sophomore transfer Brianne Peterson (Plymouth, Wis./Plymouth HS/Northern Illinois) with an 11th-place overall finish, turning in a time of 18:50.02 on the 5K course.

Both teams take a break from competition next week, returning to action on Nov. 13 when they travel to Terre Haute, Ind., for the Great Lakes Regional Championships.
