Senior Ryan Powell leads the Panthers with a seventh-place finish. Oct. 15, 1999 YPSILANTI , Mich. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men’s cross country team finished 5th today in a field of nine at the Central Collegiate Conference Cross Country Championships in Ypsilanti, Mich. The top finisher was Western Michigan, who finished with 51 points. UWM had 125 points and finished ahead of fellow MCC member Detroit Mercy, who finished 8th with 176 points. Senior Ryan Powell (Marshall, Wis./Marshall HS) was the top runner for the Panthers, finishing the 8,000-meter course in 7th place overall in a time of 26:12. He was followed by junior Aaron Nodolf (Monroe, Wis./Monroe HS), who finished 14th overall in 26:23. The Panther women compete tomorrow at the Pre-NCAA Invitational Meet, a meet UWM has qualified to compete in for the first time in school history. The meet, hosted by Indiana University, will be held at the IU Cross Country Course, with the women's sections starting at 11:15 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Team Results: 1. Western Michigan 51 2.
