Junior Aaron Nodolf was the top finisher for the men again.

AMES, Iowa -- University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men’s and women’s cross country teams traveled to Ames, Iowa, today for the Iowa State Classic. The women’s team finished fourth in a field of five Division I teams with 100 points, while top-finisher No. 17 Minnesota finished with 36 points. The men finished the race in a tie for fourth with Drake in a field of five teams, with both teams accumulating 121 points. The top finisher on the men’s side was Illinois State with 41 points.

On the women’s side, sophomore Ann Lewis was the Panthers’ top runner, finishing in 16th place overall in a time of 19:09 on the 5,000-meter course course. Sophomore Brianne Peterson fol.lowed in 17th place in a time of 19:17, followed by freshman Abby Hurst in 22nd place (19:39), sophomore Liz Pesch in 28th (19:57) and Tricia Pozel in 30th (20:08). The top finisher was Minnesota’s Corinne Nimtz who finished the course in 17:59. A total of 86 runners competed in today’s event on the women’s side.

For the Panther men, junior Aaron Nodolf was the top finisher again, finishing in 27th place overall in 26:40 on the 8,000 meter course. He was followed by senior Ryan Powell who finished in 37th place (27:13), sophomore Eric Jelinski (27:29), sophomore Marshall Finnegan (27:53) and senior Stephan Schmidt (28:11). In the field of 130 runners, the top finisher on the men’s side was Janko Bensa from Missouri Valley who finished the race in 24:15.
