MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - Strong runs by junior Liz Pesch and sophomore Abby Hurst helped the UWM's women's cross country team to a second place finish at the Central Collegiate Cross Country Championships at Central Michigan University Friday.

Pesch claimed fourth place in a time of 18:47, edging out teammate Hurst at the wire. Hurst took fifth place in the same official time.

On the men's side, senior captain Aaron Nodolf's seventh place finished led the men to fifth overall. Nodolf crossed the finish line of the eight-kilometer course in 25:21.

Top Five Women's Finishers:

4th - Junior Liz Pesch, 18:47

5th - Sophomore Abby Hurst, 18:47

9th - Junior Tricia Pozel, 19:14

13th - Freshman Alison Shattuck, 19:29

21st - Freshman Karen Brisky, 20:34

Top Five Men's Finishers:

7th - Senior Aaron Nodolf, 25:21

31st - Junior Pat Harrington, 26:37

39th - Junior Eric Jelinski, 27:00
