UWM Track & Field Travels Crosstown for Marquette Invite, While Panther Trio Travel to Mt. Sac Relays

Panthers look for strong finish at crosstown rival Marquette meet.

MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee mens and womens track and field teams take a short trip across the city on Saturday, April 17, to compete in the Marquette Invitational hosted by Marquette University.

The invite will feature, in addition to local schools UWM, MSOE and Marquette, Chicago State, DePaul, College of DuPage, Harper College, UIC, Loyola-Chicago, North Park University and Wisconsin-Madison.

In addition, a trio of Panthers will travel to the Mt. Sac Relays in California.

After strong finishes in each of its meets so far this season, the Panthers look to continue its early success on Saturday. The invite will begin with the field events at 11 a.m., which finish at 3 p.m., with the running events going from 12:30-5:05 p.m. All times are central standard time.

In addition to the Marquette Invitational, three Panthers will travel to the Mt. Sac Relays, hosted by Mt. San Antonio College in California. On the mens side, Bert Rogers will compete in the 200m and 400m and Chris Brace will compete in the triple jump and high jump. On the womens side, Shawn Burrow will compete in the 200m and 400m races. Both Rogers and Burrow were among UWMs top finishers at last weekends Calhoun Invite at Western Illinois.
