Hurst Takes Fourth In Kansas
Junior takes fourth in 3,000m Steeplechase at Kansas Relays

MILWAUKEE - Junior Abby Hurst took fourth in the women's 3,000m steeplechase Friday at the Kansas Relays to lead the UWM runners. Hurst, who entered the event with the fifth-fastest seed time, finished fourth in the field of 14 with a time of 11:15.40 as only one runner broke the 11-minute barrier. Three other Panther women had excellent showings in their individual events. Kristy Naef finished 12th in the 100m dash with a season-best time of 12.31, while Katie Seep was 14th in the 400m dash in 58.88. Stephanie Kenesie competed in the triple jump, finishing 26th with a best effort of 35'3". The Panther men's 4x400m relay team of B.J. Blake, Nick Viall, Joe Tuttle and Cornelius Hill finished 26th with a time of 3:23.99 in a warm-up for tomorrow's 4x800m relay. Competition at the Kansas Relays continues tomorrow, as Naef will run in the 100m hurdles and Kenesie will compete in the long jump. The Panther women will also team up to run in the sprint medley relay, while the men will attempt to break their own school record in the 4x800m relay. |
