Panthers compete at Big Blue Classic Hosted at Eastern Illinois April 5, 1999 April 4, 1999 - MILWAUKEE- On Friday and Saturday April 2-3, the Panthers travel to Eastern Illinois to compete in the Big Blue Classic. The men took third defeating WIU and Bradley. The women took fifth scoring high over Bradley. Several key athletes helped the men take third, they included: Bert Rogers (Janesville, Wis.-Parker) who took 3rd in the 200 meter (23.14), Kevin Kriegel (Menomonee Falls, Wis.-Menomonee Falls) finished 3rd in the 5,000 meter (15:18.10), and Nate Knudson (Medford, Wis.-Medford) finished 2nd in the 10,000 meter (32:50.23). On the womens side: Ann Lewis (Wausau, Wis.-East) took first in the 10,000 meter with a time of 40:04.68. Emily Hauer (Whitefish Bay, Wis.-Dominican) finished 4th in the 1,500 meter (4:48.50) and 3,000 meter (10:24.97). Hauer and Lewis helped the lady panthers finish strong.
