Milwaukee - Matt Carlson and Jeff Jasinowski have signed national letters of intent to enroll at UWM in the fall of 2002 and compete in men's swimming and diving, head coach Dave Clark announced today.

Carlson, a native of Hoffman Estates, Ill., was a conference champion and sectional champion in the breaststroke at Barrington High School in Barrington, Ill., and was also a state qualifier in Illinois. He is planning to major in clinical lab studies at UWM.

"Matt's a very solid student-athlete who will help us greatly in the breaststroke,” Clark said. "He should become a major factor in the league championship.”

Jasinowski, a native of Bayside, Wis., is a two-time state qualifier in diving at Nicolet High School in Glendale, Wis. He is in his second year as diving captain at Nicolet and collected five first-place finishes in seven dual meets as a junior. He has finished first in all three dual meets he has competed in so far in his senior season. He will major in business and minor in music at UWM.

"Jeff is another very talented student-athlete who has shown great improvement in diving over the last couple of years,” Clark said. "He should help our diving program remain at the high level it's currently at.”
