MILWAUKEE - Freshman distance swimmer Jen Kedinger (Fon du Lac, Wis./Goodrich) has been named the MCC Women's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week, the league announced today.

Over this past weekend, Kedinger competed in the Panthers' two dual meets. On Saturday night, she set the school record in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:44.17. The previous record was 10:49.02, set during the 1992-93 season. Along with her first-place finish in the 1000 freestyle, she took first place in th 500 free.

In the two dual meets, the Panther women pulled off a 3-1 record, defeating Butler on Friday night, as well as UIC and Northern Iowa on Saturday night. Their lone loss came at the hands of Northern Illinois in heartbreaking fashion. The Huskies defeated the Panthers by two points on Friday night, 122-120. With the wins, UWM improved their record to 4-2 on the season.

The men, who also went 3-1 with a lone defeat to Northern Illinois, upped their record to 4-3.
