Panthers Add Another Diver
Schwei to compete for UWM
May 29, 2002 MILWAUKEE - The UWM women's swimming and diving team has added another diver for the upcoming season, head coach Dave Clark announced today. Amy Schwei of New Berlin, Wis., will continue her diving career for the Panthers. Schwei finished fourth in the Division 2 state diving championships last fall while competing for New Berlin Eisenhower. She placed sixth at state as a sophomore and finished fifth her junior year. She was also named team MVP for her senior season. "Amy has both a great attitude and work ethic," Clark said. "She will be a solid addition to our team and to our diving program." Schwei joins Erin Blemberg of Appleton, Wis., Nicole Rosinski of Janseville, Wis., and Emily Holcomb of Verona, Wis., on the list of signees for next year. Her addition gives the Panthers six divers for the upcoming season, filling two full roster spots for next year's Horizon League Championship team. The UWM women's swimming and diving team finished third at this year's Horizon League Championships, held Feb. 27-March 3 in Chicago. The women's team also excels in the classroom, having been named Academic All-America as a team by the College Swim Coaches of America Association for the 26th-consecutive semester. |
