The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee swimming and diving team announced its post-season awards at their banquet on Sunday.

This year's Coaches' Awards went to freshman Peter Clark, freshman David Faust, and sophomore Erin Pollyea. The award was presented to those who gave total effort in the weight room, the pool and the classroom.

The Scholar Athlete Awards were presented to the best student/athletes on the team. Kevin Van Den Wymelenberg and sophomore Jessica Hoffman were presented with the award.

Most Improved Awards went to seniors Dave Dallmann and Adam Stoelting and freshmen Jenny Behr and Jenny Rabe, who all showed great improvement throughout the season.

Rookie of the Year honors went to freshmen Matt Schmaling, Rachel Smith, and Beth Watt.

Diver of the Year Awards were presented to senior Todd Hill and junior Amanda Maas for being the best male and female divers in the Panther program this past season.

Most Valuable Swimmer Award recipients were Van Den Wymelenberg and sophomore Leslie Brock for their performances throughout the season with emphasis on MCC championship meet performance.

Captains Awards were presented to those on the team that made the captains' jobs easier or better. Recipients of the awards were sophomore Daniel Babcock, junior Joel White, and sophomore Erin McCauley. Team captains named for the 2000-01 season include Daniel Babcock, Bill Kuri, White, Dana Handel, Maas, McCauley, Pollyea and Randi Fletcher. This past year's captains were seniors Hill, Van Den Wymelenberg, Andrew Babcock, Shannon Mortimer and Lisa Kivioja and juniors Maas and Fletcher.

First Team All-Conference swimming and diving team members include: Andrew Babcock, Daniel Babcock, Todd Hill, Bill Kuri, Matt Schmaling, Mike Smith, Kevin Van Den Wymelenberg, and Amanda Maas. All-Conference Academic team members include: Daniel Babcock, Adam Hanson, Adam Stoelting, Kevin Van Den Wymelenberg, Leslie Brock, Randi Fletcher, Kelly Goetsch, Jessica Hoffmann, Lisa Kivioja, Erin McCauley, and Erin Schneider.
