Three Panthers Earn Most Valuable Honors at UWM Swimming and Diving Banquet
Chan, Baseheart, Seider honored for season's achievements.

MILWAUKEE - Junior Nic Seider, sophomore Amanda Chan, and freshman Josh Baseheart were named team Most Valuable Athletes at the UWM men's and women's swimming and diving annual banquet on Sunday.
Seider, a diver, was the MCC Champion in 3-meter diving at the MCC Championships, and placed fourth in 1-meter diving.
Chan, who swam in the breaststroke events, was named MCC Performer of the Year at the MCC Championships in February. At the meet, she took first in both the 100 and 200 breast, and set a school and MCC record in the 200. She was also a member of three school-record-breaking relays.
As a sprinter, Baseheart was a member of the MCC Champion 400 free relay, and also set two freshman records in the 50 and 100 free, which also set a school record. Overall, Baseheart swam in six events for the men's team at the meet.
MCC Women's Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year Dave Clark handed out the following awards at the end-of-the-year banquet:
The UWM men's and women's swimming and diving teams came off a successful season with the women winning the MCC Championship and the men taking fourth.
Last week the swimmers were honored for their performance out of the pool at the annual Student-Athlete Awards Reception. The men's and women's teams had a combined 31 swimmers honored as Scholar-Athletes (3.25 or better cumulative GPA), and 21 of those were honored as Scholar-Athletes with Distinction (3.5 cumulative GPA). Thirteen swimmers were named to the MCC Honor Roll, while Peter Clark, Adam Hanson, Leslie Brock, Kelly Goetsch, and Matt Schmaling were honored with selections to the Academic All-Conference teams. |
