UWM Adds Four New Swimmers to Roster
Panthers add swimmers to roster Dave Clark announces today
April 12, 2000 MILWAUKEE - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee swimming and diving coach Dave Clark added four new swimmers to his roster, he announced today.
Justin O'Keefe (Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville) was a state finalist in the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke for the past two years in the Minnesota Class AA high school meet. "Justin is a solid swimmer who is very versatile," Clark said. "He will help us greatly in our quest to repeat as MCC champions."
Kristin Cefalu (Milton, Wis./Milton) was the WIAA Division 2 state champion in the breaststroke in 1999. She also was a state finalist in the 200 IM that year. Cefalu qualified for Junior Nationals in the 200 breast. "Her best 200 breast time is faster than our current school record," Clark added. "She has improved steadily in her career and I think that should carry on well into the future."
Kari Kinney (Madison, Wis./East) has been a state finalist in the past two seasons in the 100 butterfly and the 200 IM. "Her 200 fly and 400 IM are much better than her shorter races," said Clark. "She should thrive in a college atmosphere."
Kathleen Owen (Prior Lake, Minn./Lakeville) was a state finalist in the 200 IM, 200 free, and 100 free in the Minnesota Class A high school meet. "Kathleen is a very versatile swimmer. She has times in a number of events that would be finalist times at the MCC championship," Clark said. "Her versatility should really help our program." |
