One of Ten District Athletes to Earn Honor March 29, 1999 MILWAUKEE - UWM swimmer Heather Czappa (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.-Wisconsin Rapids) was named to the 1998-99 Fall and Winter Academic All-America At-Large District Five First Team, it was announced today. The award is sponsored by GTE and College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Czappa, a two-time conference champion in the 100 backstroke, recently concluded her career at UWM. She holds the school record holder in both the 100 and 200 backstroke and is a member of the school record holding 200 and 400 medley relay teams. Czappa is an English major with a 3.929 cumulative grade point average and a four-time UWM Scholar-Athlete. She is also a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Board, on the Deans List, and an eight-time member of the All-America Academic team.
